Membership information (How to become a member!)

The Association has regular (international), associate and honorary members.

Members must accept the Articles of Association and the objectives of ACI The Financial Markets Association as binding.

Regular Member

To become a Regular (International) Member, a natural person must have been engaged for at least two years in the management, administration or complementary activities in foreign exchange, money or capital markets in a credit institution, an interbank financial intermediary and must confirm in writing that he/she has read and accepts the Articles of Association of the Association.

Supportive member

The following natural persons and non-natural persons may become members:
1. A natural person who was previously an ordinary member but is not currently actively engaged in foreign exchange, money or capital market activities with an interbank financial intermediary.
2. A natural person who is indirectly linked to the foreign exchange, money or capital market activities of an interbank financial intermediary. This includes, but is not limited to, legal, educational, advisory, compliance, supervisory and risk management activities related to financial markets and confirms in a written declaration (Annex 1) that he/she has read and accepts the Articles of Association of the Association.
3. A non-natural person who carries on foreign exchange, money or capital market activities on a commercial basis, or an organisation or company supporting or participating in the functioning of the financial system, and confirms by written declaration that he/she has read and accepts the Articles of Association of the Association.

Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership shall be open to natural persons who, after a total of at least 10 years of ordinary membership, have rendered outstanding services in support of the objectives of the Association. An Honorary Member shall be nominated and elected by the members of the Association. If an ordinary member becomes an honorary member, he does not lose the rights of ordinary membership.

Admission to membership shall be decided by the Bureau by a simple majority of votes.
In the case of a natural person, a person who has passed one of the professional examinations (ACI Diploma, ACI Dealing Certificate, ACI Operations Certificate) organised by ACI and supported (financially) by the Society, shall automatically become an Ordinary (International) Member without having to submit a written application. The Secretary shall inform the General Assembly of the admission of new members each year at the Ordinary General Meeting of the Association.
